Browned Butter is called “Le Beurre Noisette” in French, and translates to Hazelnut Butter. This form of clarified butter is made using the same methods of production as ghee but takes a little longer to make. The butter is cooked for a longer period resulting in more toasted Hazelnut and stronger flavors than our Original Ghee. It contains no Lactose, Casein, or moisture and is safe for anyone with milk sensitivities. Browned Butter is excellent in any baking recipe as the stronger flavor add much more rich depth than a regular butter or oil would. Some like to use this in place of a plain ghee, however the flavor is noticeably toastier and works well in smaller amounts or recipes in which the toasted flavors can mesh with other ingredients well. Browned Butter can also be used as a quick and easy pasta sauce for richer raviolis- think Browned Butter and Sage Raviolis or Fish with Lemon Browned Butter sauce- YUM!
